Ten questions to ask a landlord

  • 1Who owns the premises, and does the landlord have the right to let them? Ask to see the documents.
  • 2What is included in the rent, and what is charged separately?
  • 3How are utilities measured: individual meters or a share of the building?
  • 4Is there backup power for outages, and who pays for the fuel?
  • 5Where is the nearest shelter, and how do you get there?
  • 6Is there more than one internet provider in the building?
  • 7How much is the deposit, and on what terms is it returned?
  • 8Can the rent change during the lease, and how?

  • 10How much notice is needed to leave early, and at what cost?

A lawyer should review a lease before you sign, especially a long one. We cannot advise you on a contract with us.

Rental scams to avoid

Aiaks-Biznes will never:

  • Ask for a deposit or "booking fee" before you have viewed the premises and signed a lease.
  • Ask you to pay to a personal card, by money transfer service or in crypto.
  • Claim to be away and offer to send keys by courier.
  • Contact you from a phone number or email address other than those on this page.

If someone does this in our name, do not pay. Report it to the Cyber Police of Ukraine and let us know by email.
